Description Christian Bornträger 2002-01-26 20:41:25 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kio-http
Version: Unbekannt (using KDE 2.2.2 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Mandrake Linux 8.1 i586 - Vitamin
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Mandrake Linux 8.1 2.96-0.62mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.17-ide
OS/Compiler notes:

if I define a proxy
and define a no proxy line
e.g.
141.24.44.0/23

the proxy is still used for computers in this
subnet if I access them.

proxy determination does not do hostname <-> IP resolution
Comment 2 Dawit Alemayehu 2003-01-28 06:30:11 UTC
And we do not support ranges either. Bumping down to wishlist since this is a missing feature
and not a bug.

Confirmed on konqueror 4.3.1, kdelibs 4.3.2. If i get server ip and add it to the proxy free ip list and the I go to the url (including server name) proxy will be used when it should not.
Comment 6 Thiago Macieira 2009-11-19 14:05:16 UTC
If you write "127.0.0.1" in the exception list, then browse to http://localhost, the exception will not match.

The exception list matches only the address you type. Doing name-resolution is not acceptable, so matching the IP is not a feature we can add.

This one was submitted before bug 62663, so that bug should actually be a duplicate :P

I already commented on the other bug report about the state of affairs that is why I marked this one as duplicate instead. Otherwise, I would have done what you stated above.
