Description Éric Brunet 2016-02-28 17:09:47 UTC
Each time I log on, there is a blank space in my system tray. It cannot be clicked. If I open the system tray menu to change the parameters, there is an entry with no icon nor label with a visibility set on "Auto". I can set it on "Hidden" and the blank space disappears. But it will be set on "Auto" on the next login.

I have no idea what this entry might be. I have plasma-desktop-5.5.4-1 and I have just installed qt5 5.5.1-12 (but the bug was present with qt5 5.5.1-11). This last qt update was supposed to fix
bug 352055 which is maybe related to this one, but it didn't help in my case.

Reproducible: Always

The same happens to me. Killing the process xembedsniproxy makes the blank space disappear.

- Arch Linux
- Plasma 5.5.4

Probably a bug that was fixed for Plasma 5.6, please reoen if you still see this afterwards.

Thanks for the update. I confirm that killing xembedsniproxy removes the blank entry.
However, I don't have fcitx on my system, and I have no idea what program might be responsible for the entry.

Anyway, I'll wait for Plasma 5.6
