Applications are minimized and Windows decorations disappear after monitor turned off. After turning back on the monitor the running applications show only in the task bar, but they cannot be shown on the desktop screen Newly started applications show on the desktop but they do not have decorations (title bar, etc) whether they are KDE or Gnome applications. Running "KWIN_EXPLICIT_SYNC=0 kwin_x11 --replace" restores the decoration and application can be shown on the desktop but they appear in a very minimized state Title bar and bottom bar.
kwin crashing? do you get any crash dialogs for kwin_x11?
I bet on bug #341497 + bug #353428 The output is removed, plasmashell resizes to 0,0 - the strutted workspace with it, KWin shrinks the windows accordingly and Qt happily crashes because of 341497 and kwin doesn't restart as it fails to claim selection because of 353428 (plasmashell may or may not crash because of 341497, but will have less trouble restarting)
Unfortunately we don't have the backtrace but only know that kwin crashes. This makes it impossible for us to investigate.
