Description whites11 2015-09-06 08:31:39 UTC
Problem is really simple. Plasmashell freezes when I resume my notebook from suspend to RAM.
The desktop looks like a screenshot of when I suspended the computer last (ie, I can see the actual time when I suspended last time in the digital clock widget).
The only fix possible is: killall -9 plasmashell; plasmashell

Don't know if that is relevant, but krunner works correctly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start a plasmashell session
2. Suspend to RAM
3. Resume

Actual Results:
Desktop is frozen (screen is stuck at the status before suspending, no action on the widgets work).

Expected Results:
Desktop behaving normally (widgets refreshing, click on widget do something, ...)

Forgot to mention, I am not sure this is relevant, but my notebook has an external monitor always connected
Comment 2 David Edmundson 2015-09-06 18:53:46 UTC
Can you move windows about and interact with them?
Comment 3 whites11 2015-09-06 20:06:04 UTC
I can start apps with krunner (even if the krunner UI does not appear) and I can move/resize the windows normally.
Comment 4 whites11 2015-09-11 06:12:03 UTC
I made a reset of the plasma settings and now the problem seems to have gone away.

mv ~/.config/plasma* $HOME/plasma-config/
killall plasmashell; sleep 2; /usr/bin/plasmashell
