(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kwin Version: KDE 2.2.1 Severity: wishlist Installed from: SuSE RPMs Compiler: Not Specified OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified Hi kwin-developers! Cycling through the windows (Alt + Tab) just swaps the order of the first and the second window. Thus it is not possible to switch through *all* windows using Alt-Tab. This could be simply changed if after an Alt-Tab-Keystroke the formerly active window is put to the end of the window-list. Another idea related to this topic: Why does the window that lets you choose the next active window appear immedately after such a key-stroke? So just going to the next window shows a "flickering" on the screen because of the fast appearing and disappearing of the "choose-active-window". Wouldn't it be nicer if that window only appears when the Alt-Key (or the other appropriate modifier-key) is hold down for a longer time? Bye Patrick (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
There are two options for cycling through the windows (cycle through windows and cycle through window list). You want the second one (or hit tab more than once while holding down alt).
David Faure says he has this problem too, repeatedly pressing Alt+Tab doesn't go beyond the second entry in tabbox. BTW, that delay is configurable, in $KDEHOME/share/config/kwinrc, section [TabBox], e.g. 'DelayTime=200' (in ms).
I'll close this one, complain again if the stuck Alt+Tab problem reappears.
