I tried to record an video with Windows 64Bit: Menu: Edit->Record Movie->entered filename->Button "Start" Move the map and zoomed a little bit. Menu: Edit->Stop Recording -> No new file was created.
Hey, Tobias! Movie recording feature only works if you have ffmpeg/avconv in PATH when you launch marble. Are you sure that at least one of these utilities is installed on your PC?
Hello Illya, I'm absolutly shure, that I don't have ffmpeg/avconv installed on my Windows system. But if it is needed you should: 1. Add a warning if it is not installed and someone tries to record a movie. 2. Add ffmpeg/avconv to the Windows installer of marble, as it is not as commen as on a Linux system, that it is installed.
Yeah, we need a warning for such thing and a link for avconv website there, I agree with you.
With Marble 1.11.3 for Windows I now get the warning "Supported codecs are not found". This is much better. But I still think that ffmpeg/avconv should be added to the windows installer.
Tested with Marble 2.2, no change.
Thank you for reporting this issue in KDE software. As it has been a while since this issue was reported, can we please ask you to see if you can reproduce the issue with a recent software version? If you can reproduce the issue, please change the status to "REPORTED" when replying. Thank you!
There is no Windows installer for a newer version then 2.2 available. If you would provide a newer version I could test it.
I created a merge requests for a better error message: https://invent.kde.org/education/marble/-/merge_requests/87
