download some files through commandline ftp

open the directory that the files are being saved to in konqueror

the file window keeps updating (i'm assuming because fam is constantly telling konqueror of the file changes) and flickers

Well, the report is for KDE 2.2.1 but the bug is still valid for KDE 3.0.8 (KDE
3.1 beta2). Unfortunately besides the flicker the system takes 100% CPU time
while updating the display. 
Looking at top I can see that the CPU time is taken by X and konqueror, _not_ by
fam.
BTW: I have the feeling that bug #42760 is a duplicate of this one
