A launcher in the KDE panel sometimes still displays an old application icon, which does not 
exist on the system any more.
If I delete ~/.kde/cache-$HOSTNAME/icon-cache.kcache, the problem is gone.
Here is the old icon-cache.kcache:

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Roughly:
install the freeplane 1.2.23 package
install the 1.3.7 freeplane package (not yet released, sorry) which swaps all freeplane.{svg,png} images

Actual Results:  
the freeplane launcher in the kde menu still displays the 1.2.23 icon

Expected Results:  
the kde panel should display the new icon, as the old one does not exist on the system any more.

Here are the application icons installed by the freeplane 1.3.7 package:
