Normally, a dialog (known as Dr.Konqi) should appear after the crash, and you can get the backtrace in the second tab of the dialog.

run it under gdb in this way to get the backtrace

Christoph I'm doing it as you say but when I submit my comment I'm forced to set a new value for the "Version" attribute because it seems that I'm not allowed to set the value "1.0" that is changed by Jekyll.

Initialize member variables in XRandrX11Helper

Prevents showing bogus XRandR version in debug output when XRandR is not available and fixes a crash when unloading an invalid backend

Can someone please test with this fix from libkscreen master?

I would love to test it, but I'm missing the build environment on my client to compile it. I got stuck at this point:

You need development packages of Qt, kdelibs, libX11, libXRandR and libXCB.

can I provide anything else?
I had to remove kubuntu package "libkscreen1" and "kscreen" to get it working. Installed my "libkscreen" in /usr/local/... did not know how to change the prefix.

one additional note for the reader that wasted a lot of useless time:
whenever you install a (kubuntu) package after a missing lib/header/whatever in the "cmake ." command remove the file "CMakeCache.txt" to have "fresh" lookup of the command cmake.
that was really a pain in the neck...

I think we have planned on fixing one more issue and doing the release, so most probably some time during next week.
