(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kmail
Version: 1.3.1 (using KDE 2.2.0 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Red Hat Linux 7.1.93
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.1 2.96-96)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.7
OS/Compiler notes:

When using French/France under ISO-10646 the KMail message window shows some garbage before and after the actual mail body. The message itself is correctly shown even if coded in ISO-8859-1.

Hhm indeed. Looks like a problem in khtml.
However we are now using Qt3 and there it is no longer required to specify a
font charset and the problem doesn't appear any more.
