If I am using Muon Software Center, within location Get Software -> Games -> Arcade (or any other categorys), and I decide to install or uninstall an application, the progress indicator starts as it should. If stay on the current page during the install, upon 100% completion, the focus reverts back to the "Get Software" selection category just to give me the message that "(Xyz application) was installed successfully," rather than giving the same message and staying within the Game -> Arcade category.

I'm wondering if this is normal, a bug (I haven't found one reported yet), or if this is something that can be altered in a setting I can't locate. It's really annoying to continually go back and forth.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Muon Software center and find an application to install or uninstall.
2. Stay within the given category of application listing.
3. Wait for the progress indicator to finish, and installtion (or unistallation) to complete.
4. The message indicator should have taken you back to the main "Get Software" category.
5. Now, if you were still looking at applications within the category you installed from, you'll have to reselect the categories to go back to where you were before being interrupted by the messenger service.
Actual Results:
I have to reselect the category I was installing from, but only if I was still scanning for other applications within that category.

Expected Results:
The installation (or uninstallation) complete message indicator should not have stolen my focus and reverted back to the main "Get Software" category. The message should provide it's information in the same location, no matter the category or area which is being scanned.

I am marking this as a wishlist item, since I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. Anyway, I have a fresh install of Kubuntu 12.04 with the KDE desktop (which truly awesome btw). I haven't altered anything in the way of themes, however I do have one issue that may or may not be relevant.
Under the General tab of "Desktop Effects" I have the following informational error....
Desktop effects are not available on this system due to the following technical issues:
OpenGL compositing (the default) has crashed KWin in the past.
This was most likely due to a driver bug.
If you think that you have meanwhile upgraded to a stable driver,
you can reset this protection but be aware that this might result in an immediate crash!
Alternatively, you might want to use the XRender backend instead.

If it's relevant, great, if not, it's not causing any issues that I'm aware of.

I seen the original bug report was marked as fixed 11 months ago. From everything I've read, the version 1.4 won't roll out out for current LTS versions (unless you manually add the unsupported PPA), and this is update only available for Ubunutu 12.10. Is this correct?

Yeah, that's correct. The change required some internal restructuring which makes it a bad candidate for a bugfix release.
