(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: konsole Version: KDE 2.1.1 Severity: wishlist Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: Not Specified OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified A wishlist item is for people who use terminals to monitor items such as logs that are continually added text terminals that receive notification messages etc. Konsole should have a configurable option to enable itself to: 1) Beep and/or 2) Pop on top without gaining focus to grab the attention of a user. This would be useful for anyone who is monitoring information such as system logs or for people who multitask using konsoles and tend to hide their konsole window behind other windows. I think this wishlist item would be very useful. An alternative to beeping or popping up would be for the toolbar button for inactive sessions to flash if they were receiving data. bw David

This wishlist item has been implimented in KDE >3.0
You can configure in HEAD/KDE 3.2 if you want a sound or (passive) popup for monitored sessions.
