Description deadinside777 2012-09-26 18:32:02 UTC
Dolphin is not able to report the correct size of grouped files/folders inside ntfs partitions. Using Kubuntu 12.04 with KDE 4.9.1. Also happens under clean installs of Fedora and OpenSuse with KDE 4.8.0. This is a problem since I cannot reliably copy/move files and folders from Dolphin.
Every time I hit the "refresh" key inside the file/folder properties window Dolphin reports a different number for the size, and every time I try to move files with Dolphin it copies a different amount of data all the time.
This does not happen when selecting single files. Only when selecting several files and folders.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select several large files and folders inside Dolphin
2.Right click and go to properties
3.Hit refresh key for size of folders
Actual Results:
Random size every time

Expected Results:
Give out accurate size

Thanks for the bug report! I cannot reproduce here, but the size calculation is done by KIO anyway -> reassigning.

By the way, the severity "major" is actually for issues like data-loss bugs or bugs that make the application unusable for a large group of users. I see that the application does something on your system that is not expected and can lead to problems, but that is actually the case for basically every bug ;-)
