We might have to make the brush editor bigger again.

I can't reproduce this one. Why are the fonts/texts so big? You changed it in KDE Settings dialog?

The fonts are "big" because I have a high-res screen, which means a high dpi, and that in turn makes characters use more pixels than on low-res screens.

The actual size in millimeters probably still is smaller than on your screen :-)
