The commands 'Fit Page' and 'Fit Page Width'  in 'View' menu could adjust to shortcuts.

I agree, a default shortcut to "Fit Page" could be a nice polishing addition. 
Common available shortcut for similar view operation can be "Numpad 0", "CTRL+Numpad 0" , "Numpad /" , "Numpad *" , I think ...

I would personnaly propose :
"Numpad 0" = Zoom 100% , real pixels size 
"CTRL+Numpad 0"  = Zoom fit viewport size ( named "Fit Page" )

http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=139&t=109854 shows the available shortcuts. The items in the view menu are actually separate from the shortcut system, but they should be linked to the input manager.
