When you import a PDF files, there should be a progress bar showing Kritas activity. The user interface just freezes during this possibly long operation. The user should also be able to cancel the whole operation.

Thanks for your report. You are right -- and this is a problem in more places. I need to figure out how to fix that, but it'll be for 2.5.
