Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.8.0) OS: Linux If you have a fresh KDE install, and you try to clean up your default panel by eliminating things you don't need (In my instance, deleting Dolphin and Konqueror Launchers), the launchers will autoregenerate on next login. The activities launcher and pager will not regen (which is good). But the launchers will be placed again in the panel. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Install KDE 4.8 Log in. Delete "Dolphin" and "Konqueror" launchers from panel. Log out, and Log in. The launchers will be there again. Actual Results: After deleting the launchers, and relogging, you will have the launchers in your panel again. Expected Results: The launchers shouldn't be in the panel after being deleted. Maybe there is a permission problem somewhere where the permissions override the users request to permanently delete the launchers from panel? This does not happen if I delete the entire panel, and make an empty panel from scratch. Adding again the things that I need.
Duplicate of 278724, those launchers are default KDE file manager and default KDE browser, for you they are Dolphin and Konqueror. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 278724 ***
They might be the default, but if I delete those launchers, they shouldn't reappear after I log in. The previous bug is for KDE 4.7, I'm reporting this for 4.8.(In reply to comment #1) > Duplicate of 278724, those launchers are default KDE file manager and default > KDE browser, for you they are Dolphin and Konqueror. > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 278724 ***
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278724 is still valid for 4.8.O as indicates comment #25 I added my comment only to explain things to you in case you did not know about those launchers and would have been surprised to see Firefox mentioned in the duplicated bug report.... https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278724 clearly says that the bug is that they can't be removed (==they reappear even after being removed)
Thank you. I hope this gets fixed :)
