Created attachment 68035 [details] System settings, Words Spell Check Settings... and a misspelled(?) word Version: svn (using KDE 4.7.4) OS: Linux The spell checker constantly seems to only use UK English, even if "Configure Spell Checking" is set to US English. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Check that "Configure Spell Checking" is set to "US English" 2. Type the word color 3. Type the word colour Actual Results: color is marked as a misspelled word, colour is not Expected Results: the exact reverse OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.1-CHAKRA Compiler: gcc Note: This happens for all locale specific words I've tested (eg words ending in iour/ior , ize/ise etc) I write for clients in different zones, so I have UK, Canadian and US English installed. This is despite the default system language and System Settings > Locale > Spell Checker being set to US English (in addition to Settings > Spell Check > Configure Spell Check in Words). If I flip the language in Words, the behaviour stays the same (ie the version of colour / color that shows as misspelled does not change).
I can confirm that the previous text is not re-checked when switching language. For me disabling and re-enabling the spell checking works though.
