Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux By default, Plasma seems to create a task manager that has two launchers to the right of the K menu. One for Dolphin and one for Firefox (the Firefox one is totally invisible and has an empty pop-up help text.) When I left-click on those launchers and select "Remove This Launcher", they get removed but only for the current session. If I log out and then back in again, the launchers are brought back and I have to remove them all over again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Remove the launchers, log out and then log in again. Actual Results: The launchers are back. Expected Results: The launchers shouldn't be there.
What is your KDE version and distribution please? I don't have these launchers in a default panel here, self-build KDE 4.8 RC2.
Merging with bug 278724 as it's the same. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 278724 ***

"By default" means you need to "rm -r ~/.kde4". If you updated from an older KDE, you're using your existing plasma settings, which means you're not getting the launchers.
