Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux The new QML device notifier does not provide a tooltip when hovering. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Hover over the device notifier Actual Results: Nothing happens Expected Results: A tooltip saying "There are no devices availabel" or "Removable Media - None attached" (or so) or the number of available devices appears. I did not test it with a device plugged in as I do not have one here. Also, device notifier was hidden in systray, so I accessed it through the hidden icons popup.
Created attachment 66193 [details] You can clearly see the window. I wasn't able to reproduce this. When I hover over the widget a tooltip open and said "There are no devices available" so this may be a bug on your side.
I was talking about the new QML device notifier replaxing the existing one in 4.8, not the current ont shipped with 4.7.x.
tooltips were recently re-added, can you try it again?
I don't get tooltips. Currently running 4.8.2, but they are non-existent since 4.8.0. Qt-version is 4.8.1.
This seems to be an issue with all QML plasmoids that really needs to be sorted out. I just applied the new QML battery plasmoid that is on reviewboard and guess what: no tooltip.
battery plasmoid seems ok. i tried device notifier there was no tooltip even when i plug-in my external hdd
