Description Gunter Ohrner 2011-10-22 08:12:34 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

I extensively use kwallet to manage passwords and other secrets.

Since upgrading from KDE 4.6.x to KDE 4.7.2 I experience delays of about 40 seconds in which kwalletmanager fully utilises the CPU (100% of one core) after opening my wallet from the wallet manager GUI. During this time, the wallet window does not respond to user interaction.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open kwalletmanager.
Open a used wallet.

Actual Results:
The wallet window appears and shows the secrets folders. Then it freezes for about 40 seconds while causing high CPU usage. It's usable afterwards.

Expected Results:
In KDE 4.6 I've neither experienced high CPU usage caused by kwalletmanager, nor GUI freezes.

Unfortunately, this still holds for KDE 4.8.x.
