Description Ivan Petkov 2011-10-20 16:11:32 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 1.2)
OS: Linux

In document when I search for a text with the find tool Ctrl+F the search result is selected and highlighted. Then if Esc is hit in order to quit the find tool that selected text is automatically deleted.
This is very annoying bug or feature and is causing lots of unwanted changes in documents when working in multi document mode.

Kate

Do you use the ibus input method?
Maybe related bug report: bug #248558
Comment 2 Dominik Haumann 2011-10-21 21:04:04 UTC
Oh, and you are using KDE 4.3, which is 2 years old. In KDE 4.7 it should be fixed, especially if you use ibus or similar input methods.
Comment 3 Ivan Petkov 2011-10-24 09:02:16 UTC
Suppose that I am using the IBus, at least it is installed:
ibus.x86_64 1.3.4-5.el6 @el6.1-install/6.1

Indeed the report bug #248558 is the same ! Unfortunately I am not able to upgrade to KDE 4.7 though I am using Redhat 6 Open Client distribution which comes with KDE 4.3.

Is there any way that I fix that issue using any patch of something without the need to upgrade the KDE.
Thanks a lot !
