Description Oliver Henshaw 2011-10-18 11:47:47 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

The tasks launcher for the konqueror web browser launches konqueror in its file browsing mode. This happens for both the by-default installed "preferred://browser" launcher and the launcher created by right-clicking on a running konqueror instance and selecting "Advanced -> Show a launcher for Konqueror when it is not running".

Examining .kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc reveals that the manually created launcher points at kfmclient_dir.desktop. Presumably it should point at konqbrowser.desktop instead.

Correcting this would also mean that the task launcher would have a non-blank subtitle ("Web Browser" from GenericName) and hopefully the preferred://browser launcher would properly disappear when konqueror is launched (as the preferred://filemanager one does for dolphin).

Tested with:

kdelibs-4.7.2-2.fc16.x86_64
kdebase-workspace-4.7.2-1.fc16.x86_64

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open konqueror web browser from the KE menu
2, Create a task launcher from the taskbar right-click menu
3. Click on it

-or-

1. Click on the default browser task launcher (on a fresh system)

Actual Results:
Konqueror launches in filebrowser mode.

Expected Results:
Konqueror launches in web browser mode
