Description Kevin Piette 2011-09-04 04:56:21 UTC
Application: knetworkmanager (v0.9)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5)
Qt Version: 4.6.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-34-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
This appears to be an intermittent issue. KNetworkManager had been working OK for quite a while but it looks like I encounterd an old issue I don't recall encountering on this host before now. I'll check for recent changes to system state and share any additional clues I find.

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.

 -- Backtrace:
Application: KNetworkManager (knetworkmanager), signal: Segmentation fault

The problem is reproducible - Just encountered the same crash after the applet was restarted.

The most recent system state change before the first report was a remote reboot after Xorg locked up. Package changes were made prior to that on 8/28 to get VPN working better - specifically plasma-widget-networkmanagement was removed and replaced with network-manager-kde. VPN was working after those changes and was last used on 9/2. No networking package changes were made since 8/28 but perhaps configs were updated during the reboot.

I'll experiment with the plasma widget again.
