Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.5) OS: Linux I use 'save as' all the time, and it drives me crazy having no available shortcut. ctrl+shift+s is very commonly used for this function in other applications, and afaics it isn't used for anything else in kate. Please do us the simple favour of adding this shortcut! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: NA Actual Results: NA Expected Results: NA NA
This is because there is no shortcut assigned for "Save As" in the "Shortcuts and Gestures" config page in System Settings. So reassign to kdelibs component.
a much more common use (by number of actual usages) of ctrl-shift-s is "save all". i'd strictly oppose standardizing on it for "save as".
I also vote for having Ctrl+Shift+S as default shortcut for 'Save As...' >a much more common use (by number of actual usages) of ctrl-shift-s is "save all". Have never seen this. In every application i worked with Ctrl+Shift+S was for Save As. https://www.google.com/search?q=%22save+as%22+shortcut+ctrl+shift+s
Yeah! We need Ctrl+Shift+S - Save As. Like in Gimp.
Created attachment 83656 [details] add ctrl-shift-s as the default shortcut for save as Victor is right. Since ctrl-shift-s is default shortcut for save-as, KDE really should ship with that default shortcut. Attached patch should fix that.
Created attachment 83657 [details] add ctrl-shift-s as the default shortcut for save as Argh, edited the wrong (long) line.
