Description ryanhaigh 2011-06-22 04:41:12 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS: Linux

When copying files from me Debian server to my Mint 10 KDE desktop dolphin is significantly slower than smbclient. Transfers in dolphin via smb:// (share is not mounted) run at ~9MBps.
With smbclient transferring the same/similar file runs at ~45MBps indicating the bottleneck is related to KDE/Dolphin/KIO.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open dolphin and browse to samba share via smb://server/share
Copy the file to desired location, open notification to observer transfer speed.

Actual Results:
File is copied at ~9MBps.

Expected Results:
File is copied at ~45MBps.
