Version: 1.0 (using KDE 4.6.2) OS: Linux In the default profiles of global Power Management settings, no profile disables the desktop effects, which is something that was done in an earlier version when the battery reached the warning level. Relatedly, there are no default profiles for warning and critical levels. The default profiles (BrightnessControl,Performance,Powersave) are insufficient. Turning off compositing when the battery runs low is the worst thing you can do, because both KWin and Plasma get really heavy load and will drain your battery further. This makes the wish to me a wontfix as what we want is to provide the most long lasting battery and that's best achieved with don't changing the compositing state at least with our defaults. Fair enough. However, I would open a new bug report for the other issues. The other profiles were still useful.
