(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: unknown Version: KDE 2.1.1 Severity: normal Installed from: Other Compiler: gcc OS: Solaris OS/Compiler notes: Solaris 2.8 using package distribution Nedit reports the following error indicating standard color and font resources are not defined in the window environment: Color name "BACKGROUND" is not defined Cannot parse default background color spec Color name "FOREGROUND" is not definedCannot convert string "FONTLIST" to type FontStructColor name "WINDOW_BACKGROUND" is not definedColor name "WINDOW_FOREGROUND" is not definedColor name "SELECT_FOREGROUND" is not definedColor name "SELECT_BACKGROUND" is not defined The result is Nedit starts but has no background colors fonts look bad in general it looks terrible. Nedit worked fine on the same machine in KDE 1.1 works fine in CDE and GNOME. Only showed up immediately after loading KDE 2.1.1. This but needs reporting but I would also like to know if/how its possible to manually work around this by defining these resources somewhere so I don't have to wait for a bug fix release. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
To work around this bug disable "Apply KDE colors to non-kde applications" in the Colors control center.
