This is likely to be the issue being tracked at bug 197851.

dolphin (1.6.1) on KDE Platform 4.6.1 (4.6.1) using Qt 4.7.0

While trying to get some data for bug 268131 (see there for some details), after many login retries Dolphin crashed. It was suggested that this is a duplicate of bug 197851 but there in comment 73 Dario Andres declares it as fixed in 4.5 but this is 4.6.

I can confirm this bug. Same as esst: same version numbers, same backtrace. I can no longer access samba shares on other devices, but I can view mine.
I guess this is happening as a result of the new way of sharing through Samba (right click).

From bug 269690 (KDE SC 4.6.1):
-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
1. I create new bookmark in Dolphin, with local ip (192.168.x.x, of "share
server" on win2003
2. Login with name of windows domain/user
3. Trying insert password and click Ok, then application crashed
The crash can be reproduced every time.

From bug 270816 (KDE SC 4.5.5):
-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Dolphin is crashing when I attempt to connect to my Win7 box via SMB: I enter
"smb://192.168.2.101", then it asks me for username and password, and then it
crashes with attached stacktrace. Directly entering the name of a share.
"smb://192.168.2.101/something", worked fine however.

Comment 18 Frank Reininghaus 2011-05-02 14:49:18 UTC
The reporter of bug 271977 sees the crash when a trailing slash is missing in the URL:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a places entry in dolphin to an smb share with a url that has no
trailing / such as smb://192.168.1.100
2. Click the places shortcut and enter your access credentials.
