Version: unspecified OS: Linux Hi, I tried out the improved activities in KDE 4.6 and i certainly do like it. However, when switching activities i found myself wondering in what activity i was switching to.. So, it would be nice to somehow briefly show the activity name you switched to when switching. Regards, Mark Reproducible: Didn't try
this should happen in kwin, but i agree that it would be very nice.
Could be done in an effect or in core like the desktop change OSD.
Hi, Perhaps this should be added to the System Setting -> Workspace Behavior and ther just add a section for "Activities" like you have it for "Virtual Desktops" now. It seems to be the right place do do such a thing.
I've no real idea, so this is really asking, not commenting: - Do activities _only_ work with kwin? - Or is this issue tied to a special action triggered from or feature provided by kwin? -> If not, shouldn't it be done in plasma so it still works with other WMs as well?
Hello, i took interest in this feature and implemented an initial draft version. Patches are available at: https://github.com/makism/kde-patches-for-my-own-pleasure/tree/master/ActivityChangedOSD Feedback is mostly welcomed.
please open a review reqest (git.reviewboard.kde.org) - the patch will get lost here :-(
