Version: 2.3.2 (using KDE 4.5.1) OS: Linux Use case: I have Dolphin window maximized, and so the Amarok window is not visible. I want to drag a file from Dolphin to Amarok's playlist. But using drag + alt-tab + drop does not work, as Amarok's playlist refuses the drop when one uses alt-tab. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: - start dragging an audio file or directory from Dolphin - alt-tab to make the Amarok window visible and focused. - release all keys, including tab - drop the file in Amarok's playlist Actual Results: The mouse cursor will show you that the drop is "forbidden", and doesn't actually work if you release the mouse button, so this not just an icon problem. Expected Results: The mouse cursor drop icon should change to the usual "allow drop here" icon, and after drop, the audio file should be added to Amarok's playlist. The workaround is to reorganize Dolphin and Amarok's windows so that they're both visible on the screen simultaneously, so that I won't need alt-tab to do the drag&drop. This is cumbersome.
Reproducible on Amarok 2.4.0 + KDE 4.6.0 (Kubuntu 10.10 using the backports ppa).
Reproducible with 2.4.0 + KDE 4.6.2 under Kubuntu 11.04.
Thank you for the confirmation. Could you please both test with the upcoming Amarok 2.4.1, to be released tomorrow?
This is an automated message from the triager: Amarok 2.4.1 has been released on May 8 already. Could you please upgrade and test if you can still reproduce this bug? Without feedback within a month we will close this bug as resolved. Thank you for your understanding.
Reproducible with 2.4.1 (kubuntu backports ppa) + KDE 4.6.2 under Kubuntu 11.04.
Thank you for the fast feedback.
This is related or equal to bug #243399 Don't be too eager - happens with OpenBox as WM as well. (But could be an issue in Qt or KDE, interesting is that dragging from krusader keeps working)
OK, seems definitely not an Amarok problem then, setting the bug dependency and closing.
