Set up new pptp connection through System Settings | Network gui front end, the new connection shows up when I right-click on the little network icon in the system 'tray' or whatever (excuse terminology), knetworkmanager crashes every time.  Restart/reboot doesn't help and changing configuration of pptp connection doesn't seem to either, though I must say I don't really know what the settings are supposed to be.  My colleagues on Windows 7 and OS X say that all they have to do is enter the hostname, username and password, and specify either 40-bit or 128-bit encryption and it "just works" (not to whine).

The crash can be reproduced every time.
