After you enter a name for a new activity and click Apply, the new name disappears (in the activity manager). It's necessary to close and reopen the activity manager - then the name appears.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Activities from the desktop right-click menu
2. Click the wrench mini-icon on "New Activity" to rename it
3. Enter a new name, e.g. "Email"
4. Click Apply

Actual Results:  
Activity icon displayed without a name, in the activity manager

Expected Results:  
New name should be displayed

yep. this is recent, too - it worked fine before I got sick.

after some testing, above commit indeed fixes this problem
