This window doesn't seems to belong to any software, as it appear as no graphical software is opened (I have looked for it in ksysguard) except kde itself or as other software are opened (like internet browser for example) When I disable compositing in kde systemsettings, the window border stop to appear. If I relaunch compositing without relaunching session, border doesn't appear too ! I gave a screenshot, and it will be available at ftp://ftp.22decembre.eu/bug-plasma.png for a long time ! Reproducible: Always
it's not available right now... (ftp://ftp.22decembre.eu/ seems entirely empty) consider uploading it at imageshack or whatever. is there a taskitem in the taskbar (i assume "desktopbar" is supposed to mean a taskbar?!) area you hover when this occurs?

Yes, I use a autohiding panel and 3d effects, but my girlfriend doesn't have a autohiding panel and no 3d effects, and have this same bug !
ok, we got quite some similar issues invoking an autohiding panel. your girlfriends case however sounds interesting, can you please ensure that she does NOT use (kwin) compositing at all?
