Description David Nemeskey 2010-10-07 22:25:23 UTC
Version:           3.7 (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS:                Linux

Kmix forgets the user-set volume level and mute / unmute status when the system (or X) is restarted.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Mute the mixer.
2. Restart X by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Backspace or restart the machine.
3. Witness that the sound is unmuted.

Expected Results:
The mixer should have remembered that the sound was muted by the user.

Please don't categorize this issue as a 'wish'; this is definitely a bug. The system forgets a user setting. Moreover, this bug may actually embarrass the user who turns on his/her machine during a meeting / class, believing that they can "get away" with it.

It's also reproduce on Kmix 3.7 KDE 4.5.71 (4.6 >= 20101005) "release 8" from openSUSE RPMs
