Description Alessandro Ghersi 2010-10-04 00:05:09 UTC
Version:           unspecified
OS:                Linux

This bug was reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdenetwork/+bug/159354

When the user archives a Kopete chat via Chat - Save, it generates an HTML file that repeatedly includes the same user icon images encoded inline for every message, causing the file size to be very large, for example:

        <div class="IncomingBody">
                <div class="IncomingBody1">
                        <div class="IncomingBody2">
                                <div class="inUserPicture">

                                <img width="46" height="46" src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAGQAAABkCAIAAAD/gAIDAAAgAElEQVR4nLy8WZMl15Em5stZIu...

The binary is one of two small icons that occurs before every message and adds about 21 Kb to the archive for each message. The file size can grow large, for example 6 Mb for a 1.5 hour chat.

These images could be stored much more efficiently using stylesheets, as is already used for some other images shown on the same page.

Reproducible: Didn't try
