Version: 4.0 (using KDE 4.5.1) OS: Linux If you disable the option View > Tools View > Show Sidebars in Kate’s menu, a dialog window opens with the following information: You are about to hide the sidebars. With hidden sidebars it is not possible to directly access the tool views with the mouse anymore, so if you need to access the sidebars again invoke Window > Tool Views > Show Sidebars in the menu. It is still possible to show/hide the tool views with the assigned shortcuts. Note that the instruction to use Window > Tool Views > Show Sidebars is wrong, a Window menu doesn’t even exist. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Open Kate, disable the option View > Tools View > Show Sidebars and read the text in the dialog window which appears. Actual Results: Gives the wrong instruction, Window > Tool Views > Show Sidebars, to enable the sidebars again. Expected Results: The dialog window should mention View > Tools View > Show Sidebars to access the option. Also, so far I’ve only seen one sidebar in Kate, the one to the left, so it should read ‘sidebar’ instead of ‘sidebars’, right? I question the necessity of the dialog window itself as well. The highest application version I could select for Kate in KDE’s bugzilla is 4.0, but obviously the version – http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/kate – is 4.5.1.
