Description marcello 2010-08-09 11:08:32 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

hi,
i have this problem in kde 4.4.3 but i think it can be still valid for the last release (4.5).

in a few words, all the network widgets (opendesktop, facebook, messenger) work only if the network is up when i login to KDE4, otherwise i see only blank widgets. even if i update them i don't risolve this issue, i'm forced to start the pppoe (in my case) connection, log out and log in again to have them working.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- configure the network to start on demand
- add network widgets
- reboot with the network disabled
- you'll see blank widgets

I can confirm this bug. If you go to plasmoid->settings->ok it will update but unless you do that (or you interact in some way with the plasmoid, like changing the tabs on the microblog one) it's not going to auto detect that network is up.

Konqueror and Choqok show the same behaviour. Both don't have network access if they where started before the network was up. Only restarting Konqueror and Choqok after the network is up helps to get a connection.
