Created attachment 49709 [details] snapshots Version: 0.2 (using KDE 4.4.92) OS: Linux The version I'm using is 0.4.0, but it's not among the listed options. Anyway, when I click on the button to check for updates, I receive the following error notification: "This operation cannot continue since proper authorization was not provided" (snapshot1). I would expect it to show a pop-up prompt, at least, where to type my password in, but that doesn't happen. Now that I've checked, it also happens with packages I set for installation, so when I click on "Apply", I hit the same wall. Basically, I cannot use the application as it stands now. Please, fix this, or advise if I'm doing anything wrong. Many thanks. P.S. Also, on a side note, after I get the error notification, all the buttons on the toolbar become grayed out, and remain unavailable (snapshot2). So, if I want to use them again, the only way is to mark some package for installation or uninstallation. Reproducible: Always OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35-12-generic Compiler: cc
PolicyKit bug most likely, if it instantly failed. Bouncing over to polkit.
OK, so the part about the toolbar remaining grayed out was a bug on Muon's part, and should be fixed in the RC, but the authentication error should still really be a Polkit-KDE bug.

This bug report should be sufficient to get the Polkit issue taken care of.
This bug was reported a long time ago, please, check if this is still an issue in latest Muon stable release 1.3.1, available for Kubuntu 12.04 LTS.
This is not an issue anymore. Many thanks!
Then this bug can be closed.
