Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux After changing to a new theme on kdm and reboot, I had a black screen before login and a bug window. It said to me kdm crash with this details : executable : kdm_greet signal : 8 (floating point exception). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Don't know if it will happen every time, but I tried two times and it happen ! I simply change the theme in systemsettings to "kdm4-lines", found on kde-look.org, then I reboot. Actual Results: black screen and no possibility to login on a kde session Expected Results: the kdm login screen with the expected theme should appear.
This bug appears for release kdm 4.4.92 build on Gentoo (kde overlay) with the following : USE="consolekit handbook (multilib) pam (-aqua) -debug (-kdeenablefinal) (-kdeprefix) -kerberos" CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=native -fomit-frame-pointer" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=native -fomit-frame-pointer" I have a pentium dual-core cpu.
most likely a dupe. you may have installed the theme incorrectly or you are trying to use a theme for kde 3. a proper backtrace would be more useful, though ... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 161480 ***
