Description Tom Chiverton 2010-07-07 21:21:20 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

See attached image; CPU on left has spare 'configure' tiny icon behind graph, as well as unwanted an non-removable 'bar' above graph.
Temp gauge on right has very thin graph to right of gauge icon.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I even rebooted, removed, rebooted, re-added the relevant applets. No change.

Actual Results:
Looks like it was never even tested

Expected Results:
Looks nice

i can confirm this, the applet does not seem to set it's size correctly and the paints outside the area it said it would use.

I can confirm the observation "Looks like it was never even tested"... this and bug #244096 need to be fixed, so people can have system monitoring in panels again (where it belongs).

"Actual Results:
Looks like it was never even tested"

that isn't "Actual Results" that's just getting in a nice kick at the developers in a bug report. and repeating it, Patrick, isn't helpful.

yes, our manpower is limited, and vertical panels in particular do not get as much work done to them as we'd like. as for "never even tested", that's exactly the service you just provided by doing so and filing this (and the other) bug reports.

now, we'll try to get these issues fixed up, and it would be nice if there weren't snide remarks on the side in the meantime. fair?
Comment 5 Tom Chiverton 2010-08-07 20:45:20 UTC
Fair, of course !
I just didn't understand how this could be considered finished and checked-in by the person who changed it, that was all.
Comment 6 Paul Gideon Dann 2010-08-29 10:43:06 UTC
I'm seeing this too.
Comment 7 Tom Chiverton 2010-11-05 23:35:29 UTC
Still busted in 4.5.3 (Ubuntu 10.10 with Kubuntu's PPA packages).
Geez. I think we must be the only ones in the world using these widgets, it's so obvious a glitch.
Comment 8 Paul Gideon Dann 2010-11-30 11:16:32 UTC
Please please please can someone look into this? I suspect that it's not getting looked at because it's still set to "Unconfirmed". If that's the case, could someone that's allowed to please set it to "Confirmed"?
Comment 9 Tom Chiverton 2010-12-02 23:15:36 UTC
Still broke in 4.5.4.
Comment 10 Petri Damstén 2010-12-03 08:23:48 UTC
SVN commit 1203116 by pdamsten:

* Don't show analog meter for temperature in panel (no room for it).
* Show top bar only when there really is room for it.
BUG: 243886

 M +1 -1 plotter.cpp
 M +1 -1 temperature.cpp

I cannot reproduce icon behind graph in svn version (in Kubuntu 4.5.4 it's still there).
