Description mm 2001-04-17 15:42:28 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kmail
Version: 1.2 (using KDE 2.1.0 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS: Linux 2.2.14 i686
OS/Compiler notes:

Hi

In some cases I want to instantely shred an
incoming mail (like well known spam address) mail from archenemy or similar.

Currently this appears to be only possible using external or special filters.

What about adding a new 'discard' filter action which just well discards the mail?
Like if I specify /dev/null as output rule in my .procmailrc...

Ciao Marcus

No it won't happen because this is too dangerous (has been discussed=20
before several times). There's not problem with sending mail to the trash.

Just use "transfer Trash"?

The problem is that it still shows up as (1) unread mail in there.
This is mostly a psychological problem I admit but neithertheless.

What about creating a 'Set Mail Status to Read' filter?

Hmm and I just checked Netscape Mail and they are not afraid to offer
a 'Delete' option ;)

There was a patch for that on the kmail@kde.org mailing list. Patch your
kmail recompile and you have that. Also it will be there when I've
finished the big filtering rework.

AFAIK that just moves the mail to the trash.

Please note that if you use that patch you have to use the other patch that
was sent with it. Otherwise the widgets become misaligned.
