I am trying to move the selected text file to partition named "abhijeet" but it doesnt open..

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

When I select a file for drag and drop when I have this "Open Folder during Drag operation" feature enabled in Settings->Configure Dolphin->Navigation (last check-box from the top),

I cannot change the directory to a different partition using PLACES PANEL which is a must-have feature.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Select a file for dragging and then move your mouse over PLACES Panel(over to the left by default)

Actual Results:
The partition wont open in the dolphin window.

Expected Results:
I should be able to browse the partition and move my file to the new partition.

Hi,

I hope I understand you right, you want to move a folder to one of your other partitions in the places panel on the left?
Can you try this with KDE 4.7 and 4.8 if it's now implemented?

I tried to reproduce your case in KDE 4.8 with Dolphin 2.0 and it asks me what i want to do with that folder.

If it now works, we can close this report.

In my opinion meant exactly what I wrote in the title: If I position it on the links panel "Places" the central window does not follow the pointer (so I can not navigate further subfolders) as it does for folders within and the tabs (with a slight delay).

You can work around this problem with the function of "copy / paste".

The ability to make connections, however, is very good (but difficult forcing movements Carthusians in the positioning).
