Description Parameshwara Bhat 2010-06-12 09:09:33 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

There is ambiguity in the Summary. But what I mean is,when a stick is inserted, it also shows up in Dolphin. But it not mounted yet. That is nice behaviour. But at this stage, If the user begins moving/copying a file to the stick by drag and drop, that produces an error with unhelpful 'URL complaint'. I understand the behaviour as the stick is as yet unmounted and file copy operation does not find a file system node.

But if this drag and drop action could initiate mounting of the stick, like when you click on it and successfully finish the transaction, it would be smarter.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.insert a stick
2.Open a Dolphin
3.Try to drag and drop files to it.

Actual Results:
As described

Expected Results:
As described

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop
Compiler: gcc

Thanks for the report! This feature (which would certainly be useful) has been requested already.
