Description Stefan Majewsky 2010-05-31 11:51:09 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

It seems to me that webkitpart uses KHTML's adblocking engine, but it does not add the corresponding button to the statusbar, so it's impossible for me to configure the adblock filters.

Reproducible: Didn't try

You got this wrong. It is the adblock plugin that does not support kwebkitpart. Not the other way around. KWebKitPart goes out of its way to support most of the functionalities in in KHTML, but its plugins were written before KWebKitPart was created and hence have no support for it.

Anyhow, this is a known issue waiting for someone to implement it. If there are any takers, they are welcome to ask for guidance and assistance on the webkit-devel at kde.org mailing list...

Merged with 248137 since it contains a detailed response about the state of adblock plugin support in kwebkitpart...
