Running software:
Open Office Writer (there was the large (77mb) file opened)
Amarok (playin some music)
Filezilla (was downloading a lot of files from ftp)
Dolphin (several folders with tonns of files were open)
Digikam (doing nothing)
Opera (serfing web)
some other programs without any special activity.

I was serfing the web when my plasma desktop has crashed, everything but these opened windows has gone.
Plasma is restarted now, everything seems to work normal, but there are several icons in the tray dissapeared (though its processes are running): Google desktop, Opera, Amarok.
Killing these programs and restarting them would re-enable these icons.

that would be because these icons use the old, and rather broken, xembed protocol for the tray.

as for the crash itself, do you happen to use an auto-hiding panel?

as i've observed in some of the duplicates of this report: the crash is happening in the event loop in Qt. not sure what is triggering that, exactly, but we need to find a set of reproduction steps to investigate further because the backtraces are completely unhelpful.
