Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources As I understand it, on startup, Nepomuk has to scan all indexed directories for changes. Having found changes, Nepomuk indexes them, using Strigi. To prevent uninformed cricicism that 'Nepomuk re-indexes the same files on startup', I suggest using a different tooltip during the directory scan so the user can learn that a brief scan is taking place which is distinct from the initial index creation. During directory scan "Scanning for recent changes to files for desktop search" While indexing files "Indexing [new|changed] files for desktop search".
Partly fixed in 4.9. It now shows the message "Scanning for recent changes". Still doesn't show the new/changed files for desktop search. Moving to the appropriate component.
Removed the Nepomuk tray icon for 4.11. The indexing has better scheduling now, so it is no longer required.
