Description Anne Wilson 2010-02-18 18:38:12 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

On Login, the opendesktop plasmoid correctly displays Friends and Messages, but the Nearby panel is empty. If you remove the plasmoid then re-install it, all three panels display correctly. It stays correct until next time you log out, when the cycle starts again.

I get this also, on FC13, KDE 4.4.3, if I clear the login data from my KDE Wallet, and add the plasmoid to my desktop, the nearby people show up and a login tab, then if I login the nearby tab is empty. also it wont save my location and long, lat, will it do obscure little villages or does it only accept major towns and cities??

Closing for lack of feedback. Please feel free to reopen this report if you can still reproduce this with KDE 4.8.3 or later.

Most likely still reproducable in 4.8, but I've fixed it in 4.9 (geolocation dataengine went broken due to webservice becoming unavailable)
