Description Volker Fröhlich 2010-02-06 20:33:10 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I use German as my system language.

When I first tried enabling spell checking in Kopete or Kmail, it simply did nothing. It showed, that the default language in the spell checker configuration was set to "Deutsch". After changing that to "Deutsch (Österreich)", a national version, spell check worked. The original option "Deutsch" does not show up any more.

It never triggered any error message. The default setting should either be changed, or finding no dictionary should trigger an error, I suggest.
