Description marek 2010-02-04 17:39:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

if moving window to left/right screen edge, then it is tiled along that edge, but shouldn't expand over/under side panels,
maybe this is systemsettings bug
Comment 1 lucas 2010-02-06 04:58:26 UTC
Cannot reproduce. Are you using multiple monitors and the panel is on the inside edge by any chance? Or even have you explicitly configured the panel to allow windows to cover/go under it?
Comment 2 marek 2010-02-06 14:14:40 UTC
Only one monitor, panel is set to 'Always visible'. Most windows behaves corectly, but systemsettings, and also qt-recordmydesktop expands under panel.
Using recordmydesktop i created movie clip:

Shows also bug 225500. Can be downloaded only 10 times.

Now i know. If minimal window width is greater then half of maximize area, then rest protrudes beyond screen, or under side panels.
Comment 4 marek 2010-02-11 11:10:12 UTC
In my opinion window should be kept in maximize area, can expand to always visible panels area only if it has greater in size than maximize area, and in last resort expand outside screen.

Size restrictions are currently ignored for Quick tiles windows - no idea whether this is not actually another bug but this one's gone ;-)
